 3. After doing the EFT, please complete the acceptance of T&C payment notification below, so admin can look out for the payment, book your first training session, FitnessAlive will welcome you & you will have a FASFA player look after you for the first few sessions.

(FASFA) Terms & Conditions


2022 Membership Fees

R640 per month

 

Welcome to FitnessAlive Sports & Fitness academy, the primary aim at FASFA is for all players to have fun, learn new skills and improve their netball game: 


FASFA is passionate about enabling members to reach their full potential off the court as well as on the court. We look to support our members to fulfil their aspirations, follow their dreams and to give something back to others.


We are a unique academy committed to continuous improvement and we strive to make each season even better than the last. It is essential that every member, guardian and player read and agree to the T&C’s of FASFA.


Team Selection

Teams are selected based on age, ability and/or experience (beginners are welcome!). Teams are selected according to numbers in each age group and skill level and the teams can change at any time.


Players are expected to play all positions. Players may be swapped at half time.


Training

FASFA has 3 different venues for training, and a full member can attend any class at any venue and can attend all the classes for the week, if their membership fees are paid and up to date. Free fitness sessions or Netball sessions a week for one parent per player.


All training sessions are around 1h30 - 2hrs in all venues depending on the session planning.


Training dates and venues can change at short notice and seasonally depending on requirement.


Players are notified of sessions for the month and can attend any or all sessions.

 

Training could be held on any day (Mon-Sun) depending on the weather, availability of the coach and the venue.


Make up sessions are made when they were cancelled due to the weather or by the  coach.


Players who do not attend training should expect to have less court time if all other players in their team are available.


Players are expected to attend all training sessions with their selected team.


When a commitment is made to FASFA, this includes training. Please advise the coach as early as possible should a player be unable to attend training or any planned match.

 

Payment

Full payment of membership fees must be made at the time of registration. Membership fees do not include uniform costs or League match fees. 

 

Player’s code of conduct

  • Play by the rules
  • Be fair and honest at all times
  • Encourage all players
  • Respect the umpire’s decision at all times
  • Be safety conscious for yourself and others at all times
  • Be responsible for your own actions
  • Be an exemplary role model
  • Encourage sportsmanship both on and off the court regardless whether your team win or lose
  • Be committed to your team. Attend all practices and games
  • Work equally hard for yourself and your team
  • Be a good sport. Applaud all good play whether by your team or your opponent
  • Remember the goals of the game are to have fun, improve your skills and feel good
  • Respect other players, officials, spectators. 
  • Remember to thank your coach, the officials, the opposition and supporters
  • A FASFA player is not allowed to train with another coach besides school appointed coaches during school hours. 
  • A FASFA player is not allowed to play in a competing netball team against any FASFA team in a Netball game, this is seen as a conflict of interest.


Spectator’s code of conduct

Encourage your team to play by the rules


Do not abuse players and officials or yell at anyone


Do not argue with the Umpire or team officials


Act as a role model. Show respect to


Umpires and team officials. Lead by example and be reasonable in your expectations


Coaches and Umpires are the only people who can instruct players during matches, not spectators


Condemn violence in any form be it by players, spectators, guardians, coaches, officials or umpires

 

Emergency

In the event of an emergency, when the emergency contacts are unavailable, the player or their guardian consent to them being taken to hospital by a FASFA Representative or Ambulance at their cost. 


Netball is a vigorous physical sport and injuries can be sustained as a result of participation. Players and/or their guardian agree to play for FASFA entirely at their own risk and fully indemnify FASFA against all costs, claims or demands incurred or brought against FASFA arising in any way, whether through injury or otherwise, as a result of playing for FASFA.

 

Fees

Membership Fees R640 per month per player (Junior and Senior). Guests can attend one off netball sessions R160 per session. Please notify FASFA admin and book the session.

 

The fees cover coaching, equipment and skills training sessions.  Fees do not include player uniform costs. League Netball match fees are not included, the match fee is payable in cash prior to the game.

 

The change of membership fees shall be notified to all Members at least thirty days prior to such fees becoming due and payable. Membership Fees are payable on the 1st day of each month by EFT or stop order.

 

Training Kit

The FASFA branded T shirts are compulsory for all training sessions.


Match Kit

FASFA Kit Dress - branded training attire will be worn at all times during matches. 


Footwear

Your choice of shoes when playing Netball is important. Netball and Running shoes may appear similar but they’re not.


Running shoes are designed for running in a straightforward direction. Netball shoes are designed to pivot, change direction, jump, land, take off quickly and stop suddenly.


Netball Shoes are made specifically for these movements to protect Netballers of all abilities.


Ball

Please bring your own Netball ball to all training sessions and water.


To Note

Players may not wear anything that could endanger themselves or other players, specifically:


(a) No adornment or jewellery may be worn other than a wedding ring which must be covered with tape

(b) A medical alert bracelet may be worn provided it is covered with tape

(c) Fingernails must be short and smooth

(d) Hair must be suitably tied back.

 

Social Media

 FASFA may wish to record images of participants for promotional and training/development purposes.


These images may be used in mediums including publications and promotional material including the newsletter, website or other social media.

 

FASFA agrees not to use any images in a manner that may be deemed adverse or defamatory to the person(s) involved and it will not use images for any commercial gain.


Any images remain the property of FASFA and any personal details will be kept confidential and will not be used for any purpose other than related to this image. 

 

Members acknowledge that they may be subject to photography/filming as described above and that consent is given for FASFA to use images taken of the players /me/ my children for these purposes.

 

Covid 19

The impact of COVID‐19 (coronavirus) has presented unprecedented challenges for our netball family and the sport we love. 


Everyone has a role to play to help stop the spread of infection, we must not be complacent. 



We are stronger together, so let’s all take care of each other to help ensure the health and wellbeing of our entire netball community.


Please always wear a mask to training sessions and to matches. Please always bring sanitiser to training and to matches and sanitise regularly. Bring your own water and mark the bottle. Stay home if you are unwell.


Equality

FASFA respects the rights, dignity and worth of every person and will treat everyone equally within the context of their sport, regardless of age, ability, gender, race, ethnicity, religious belief, sexuality or social/economic status.


FASFA is committed to everyone having the right to enjoy their sport in an environment free from threat of intimidation, harassment and abuse.


FASFA members have a responsibility to oppose discriminatory behavior and promote equality of opportunity.


Additional 

Players and guardians understand & respect each individual’s reputation and will not take any action or make inappropriate comments about a fellow participant, coach, official, volunteer or member of staff that will bring FASFA or those associated into disrepute, including making comments on social media. 


Players are expected to arrive at competition matches at least 20 minutes prior to the start of the match, unless stated otherwise by the coach.

Players are expected to wear the correct FASFA playing uniform.


Players are expected to maintain a high standard of behaviour whilst representing FASFA.


Players understand that team selection for games is at the discretion of the coach.


Players are expected to play in whatever position the coach determines is best for the team.


Players are expected to display good sportsmanship at all times, and will maintain a positive attitude supporting the team and teammates whether playing or not.

 

Terms and conditions for under 18’s

You are the legal guardian of the child or dependent being registered to participate at FASFA (b) You provide permission for your child or dependent to participate in the fitness sessions and Netball matches on the Terms and Conditions set out in this document.

 

Limitation of liability

 You understand that you, your guests or spectators attending any training session or match arranged by FASFA is attended entirely at your own risk and understand that all sport including Netball have inherent risks associated with participation, which may result in personal injury (even of a serious nature) to a Participant and that you fully accept and agree to bear those risks. 

 

You agree not to bring any claim or proceeding against FASFA or any venue of an event or practice session, for any damage, loss or injury whatsoever that you or a Participant may suffer from participation in Netball or fitness or as a result of attending a session or game. 

 

You authorize FASFA or its Affiliates personnel, in the event of any injury or illness, to obtain on you or your child’s behalf and at your expense, any medical assistance, treatment and transportation as deemed necessary.

 

You acknowledge that there is an unquantifiable risk of transmission of viral illness including COVID-19 associated with participation in Netball and you have considered that risk and your and the Participant’s personal circumstances, including any vulnerability that the Participant may have or that of persons whom the Participant will be in close contact with following participation in Netball.


You acknowledge that COVID-19 may have very serious health consequences that by the Participant participating in Netball you acknowledge and accept these risks.
